I have found it difficult to find an egg donor I would work with through my IVF center because they don't even offer to show photos! How can you make such a large decision without photos! Needless to say, I have begun searching for a donor through an egg donor agency. I hope i have better luck....I'll re-post to let you know....

Please don't take this wrong, wtc, but I would do anything to have a chance to conveive or become pregant and I would not care what photos of the donor looked like. But perhaps I've been through my own private hell (cancer) and after that, just being pregnant would so special. And not knowing would be a bit like the way it naturally happens, wouldn't really know until life unfolds. Something nice about that.

Dear Wanttoconceive,
I have noticed many infertility clinics are now offering photos of donors. I can see the point that photos are not that important, but also agree that putting a face to all the otherwise dry data is much better and somehow more personal. |

I was listed as a prosepctive egg donor in the past and did not want my photo posted. I think it is the best way to preserve the anonymous aspect. We need to think about the future, such as if or when the child that results finds out or wants to contact the egg donor. I'd just prefer not to have to live with that possibility.
