Default Is male testing included?

We (my wife and me) are thinking about going with in vitro.
The doctor says it's probably the only way my wife will get pregnant.
My question is, if we decide to do it is testing the male sperm included?
Or will they just take the doctor's word and work with my wife and assume I'm okay?
thankyou

In our case we were both tested straight away.
it's the only way you can find out where any issues lie, (if any).
You should have been tested already, and if you haven't, you should insist onit.
