| Males and IVF Wanted: Male points of view related to IVF. How does an IVF procedure affect the traditional male role in a pregnancy support situation? What is the greatest challenge facing a male who is supporting a spouse or friend through an IVF procedure? |

We (my wife and me) are thinking about going with in vitro.
The doctor says it's probably the only way my wife will get pregnant. My question is, if we decide to do it is testing the male sperm included? Or will they just take the doctor's word and work with my wife and assume I'm okay? thankyou |

Yes, you will have to get tested and for us "yes" it was free because my husband is in the service. I'm not sure how much it will cost..you will have to ask your doctor. They will NOT preform a procedure like IVF without doing a male sample first. Has your wife had all the tests BEFORE your doctor suggested IVF? We're doing our 3rd IVF right now. I wish you all the best! |

Until we finally decided to go the doctor I was thinking about this possibilsity regarding my hubby, but did not know how to approach it. It will be good to find out all these things and to at least know our situation. Best of luck to all.
