Default weight gain

I am surprised to see this subject here as it may explain a lot for me. ours were second marriages for both of us and we got a late start. I had my first at 35 and now five years later I'm still t rying to a second. I gained about 20 pounds after the first which I could not lose. for about the last year I've been seeing a specialist who has been putting me on a variety of fertility treatments and I've also been gaining weight again. Is there a connection between these drugs and weight gain! If so, they sure keep it quiet.

Default weight effects

I have a similar question. I am having trouble ovaulating. I have been trying to conceive for the last 2 and 1/2 years. been tested twice for hormone levels and also had a sonogram of my ovvaries and utteris and there are no problems. I have never had regular menstral cycles, and sometimes go months without having any. From 25 to 30 I was regularly on birth control. I am 31 now. I am well overweight and am being told I need to lose some before I can become a patient at any infertility clinics. Could this be the reason why I am not ovulationg now? Guess what I’m really wondering is if there’s is a connection between weight and fertility.
Appreciate any thoughts
Meg

Question

I think I read somewhere that weight doesn't make a difference when you are trying to conceive. I think it all has to do with egg quality, right?

I also would like to know more about the weight question. I have never heard that being overweight might have any influence on egg quality. I know that doctors discourage pregnancies when you are too overweight, but can extra pounds actually affect teh chances of becoming pregnant?

unfortunately, yes, (for some) being overweight can effect your chances of conceiving.

Personally, I'm glad my doctor never mention to me that I was overweight and needed to lose weight before I started trying to conceive. I have some friends that are OBESE and became pregnant w/ injections and then there are my other friends overweight and still trying to conceive.

I couldn't imagine myself being overweight and then adding in a pregnancy.
